Rose Water Cream Sandwich Cookies

These cookies burst with rose petal flavors.

I love rose flavor; it is feminine, exotic and pretty. I am in love with food associates with flowers like lavender, rose, jasmine, hibiscus, etc.

I think these cookies are perfect to have during spring time. Having them with a cup of warm tea will put you an instant happiness and calm mood in one spring afternoon.

The recipe says  you must put 'candied rose or violet petals' to decorate the top of the sandwiched cookies . But I do no have them when making these cookies. All I had was these 'dried rose buds' that I have in the pantry. So I put this instead of the candied rose petals. If you want to make the one with candied rose/violet petals; it would be the prettiest little cookie you ever see. Just to warn you; they are quite pricey. You can check them out {here}.

House Tour {Living Room + Dining Area}

Decorating this home has been so much fun and very easy because it is a small home.  We want this house to be casual and not need much maintenance since we only come here 5 or 6  time each year.

One thing that I love about being here in Delray Beach, Florida is that there are so many thrift stores in the area.  So  I wanted to test my skill of a DIY projects for this home. 'Blue' seems to be the right choice for the interior color since this is Florida; the state always with blue sky and beaches.

I re-painted the end table on the left {here}. I sprayed painted the two brass pears on the end table on the right {here}

I love gold accent in an interior and here I purposely chose gold frames for my gouache art works as an accent of the bluish interior.

The table runner was a rubber stamped DIY {here}

The dining set came with the house.  I am thinking to re-paint the chair white but I am going to leave them as they are for now.

 Remember the 'brass jewelry embellishment wall decor' under the sun burst I posted not long a go? {here}.

Thank you so much for stopping by !
 Have a lovely week end Everyone !

Coffee Filter Roses {DIY}

Hello,
I had so much fun making these coffee filter roses for the past few days. I never knew that it was going to be so pretty. I found the tutorial on Pinterest {here}.

Now my roses never dies and always stay beautiful. The good thing about the coffee filter roses is you can make them in any color you want. I am going to make many more with different colors to see how they will look like. They are also pretty to give as presents to a friend, mother in law, sister, or even your own mother on mother's day.

I am not going to give you my own tutorial ;  you will see a complete tutorial on a link highlighted above and below. This is where I learned on how to make these pretty coffee filter roses.

I love photograph flower so much and play around with these coffee filter roses to be photographed was so much fun. You can see that I displayed them with different props and elements.

I love water color and pattern/shape so much that I combined them together to create a display. I wish I had a bigger wall so I can display my water color art with these coffee filter roses but the truth is I do not have a good size wall to create a display I want. But none the less,  I managed creating a mini wall for these pretty roses and my water color art.

I found this pretty white vase at a thrift store {outdoor} here in Delray, Florida for USD 3.00. When I saw it on the table sat with other stuff that people ignored mostly; I could not resist on having it. I was surprised {with a big smile on my face} when she told me it was only USD 3.00.

For those of you who are interested in making these pretty roses on your own please check Wedding Bee
Her coffee filter roses are beautiful and that is where I got the inspiration to make these pretty roses.

Good luck Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Jewel Brass Embellishment {With Golden Victorian Frame}

I have been keeping these brass pieces for almost two years now. I bought them at Brimfield Flea Market in Massachusettes {here}. I remember the seller had so many of them in her booth. She said these were used to make jewelry and the big factory near by  has long a go closed. At the time I knew these pieces will be a wall decor but did not know exactly how am I going to execute them to make it into a wall decor.

A while a go I found this golden victorian frame in Goodwill for USD 10.00. I am into this kind of frame lately and always on the look out for one. Here in Florida you can get this frame for little money.  It has been sitting in my closet for almost a year now.

So finally I was able to create this one of a kind wall decor and I love it! I still have more of these brass pieces and I am going to frame them when I found the right frame for them.

The tutorial.

What you need;
~ A frame
~ Linen textile {I bought mine at Calico Corner} I am sure any fabric store carries this type of linen.
~ Brass pieces embellishments
~ Golden thread
~ Sewing needle
~ Cardboard {cut exactly to fit the frame}
~ Glue gun

1. First cut the linen textile fit to cover the card board and leave 2 or 3 " extra to fold in.
2. Arrange your brass pieces on the linen textile. Once you are happy with the placement of the brass pieces; using sharpie mark a tiny dot  behind top first brass piece you are going to attach. {Remember the dot must be behind the brass piece so it won't show when the piece finally sewn in onto the linen textile.} Start with the piece on the very top of the arrangement and work all the way down.
3. With your left hand holding the brass piece, sew the 2 or 3 corners of the brass piece onto the linen cloth. {Please see the arrow on the above picture.}
4. Repeat this with all  brass pieces. You might need to sew only 2 or 3 corners.
5. Once all brass pieces attached; put on top of card board and center.
6. Carefully place the board with the brass pieces on the linen center in the frame.

7. With art work facing down on the frame; pull one side {not too tight} and using glue gun glue the cloth to the card board.
8. Repeat the above on the opposite side. Again, repeat the top  and bottom. Finally  glue all extra linen cloth onto the card board to make the backing look neat.

That's all there is to it.

Chocolate Chip & Strawberry Crepe {Strawberry Field}

I am thrilled that I finally published my first home movie. Just a short while a go I found a software called Window Live Movie Maker on Youtube; and I was so excited to have learned some of the tools to deliver this video. I found that Window Live Movie Maker is very easy to learn and you can free down load too. There are many tutorials you can learn on Youtube.  My favorite ones are here, here and here.

I wish I could get rid off those two black rectangular on the top and bottom of the video screen. I have to learn more about on how to make it wide screen. I know I set it for a wide screen as there is a tool for this on Window Live Movie Maker but I did not know why it still appearing  like that. Perhaps it has something to do with Blogger  configured video this way.

Since this is my first video; I begged my husband "Steven" to be my camera man. He is not inclined with camera and video making so I had to teach him and pointed out which button doing what and we laughed and had a good time together. I found this is an easier shooting than a fashion photo shoot. Simply because in Window Live Movie Maker you can cut and trim the part of video you do not like and continue on with different shooting, and so on. One thing also I do not know what is the right setting of my camera for video shoot. So I just shoot with Auto setting. There has to be a much better setting to shoot video out door. Well, I am still learning and this is good enough for me for now.

Prior shooting the movie; I know I wanted to try and make a strawberry desert. I have been wanting to go to this strawberry farm which is situated near our home for a long time but never get to do it. So thought  the strawberry picking video is the perfect additional picture  for the desert blog post  I am about to make.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the movie about me going on a strawberry picking one afternoon.

Oh, I forget to mention that we had a small dinner with my in-law a few nights a go. And I served this Choc Chip Strawberry Crepes. At the end of the evening and when they about to go home he took one of my crepe desert home. That's when I knew that this desert is good. I love the combination of sour cream, cream cheese, chocolate and strawberry. You can not go wrong eating it with home made chocolate sauce either which I made for my father in-law because he loves chocolate so much!

Painted Spring {With Easter Eggs & Flowers}

I had so much fun painting these eggs with water color for the past few days. I love how water color creates delicate and flowy images and I thought what could be a better object to paint on then an eggs. They look very pretty, feminine and a symbol of welcoming spring time. The hardest part is to empty the eggs. I found  how to empty and blow eggs through Youtube {here}. At first I was a little uneasy about doing it. Blowing raw eggs with your mouth is not something I wanted to do. But I was determined to paint these eggs and I must empty them first,  so I did it! And it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Once you get the hang of it; it was easy as one two three. I only broke one egg!

Once I emptied the eggs I put them in the oven over 200 deg. for about 45 minutes. Then I primed the eggs with white color craft acrylic paint bought at Michaels for only USD 0.69/bottle. The prime coat  is for the water color to absorb the surface of the eggs when paint on. My water color set is Sennelier.

I love fresh flowers very much. And I also love photograph them. So here are my painted Easter Eggs with flowers ! And forgive me if I posted too many pictures of these painted  eggs.

Thank you for looking !
